Transformations of teaching of history at grammar schools in Klatovy region between 1971-1995

The last quarter of 20th century was a very dynamic period full of changes, not only in society but also in teaching. History has undergone the same turbulent development, not only as a school subject. The aim of this work is to describe the development of teaching at this type of secondary schools in Czechoslovakia on the example of two grammar schools in the Klatovy district (Sušice and Klatovy) with an emphasis on teaching history between the years 1971 and 1995. On the basis of archival materials, recollections of witnesses and contemporary professional journal discussions; theoretical concepts and the degree of their fulfillment in everyday practice will be compared. Therefore, the research will also include an analysis of school-leaving examinations in history with an emphasis on their content change in this period. In addition to archival material, the method of oral history will be used, which will bring a comparison of theory with practice in teaching at the time, with narrators becoming not only students but also teachers. The text will also include a didactic part, in which I will focus on the analysis of teaching methods and teaching aids (especially textbooks).

Y Chromosomal Characteristics of the Modern Rural Population in Klatovy Region

Usage of genetic markers in non-recombining part of chromosome Y has been shown as a eligible tool for a study of history, diversity and migration of population. Applicable markers of chromosome Y are SNP and STR polymorphisms. There were collected 53 unique samples of DNA as a object of this work from unrelated origin males from 9 villages around Klatovy. Samples have been analyzed and its values have been determined by using the 17 STR markers by AmpFLSTR® Yfiler® Direct Kit. In total I have observed 7 different haplogroups. I have resulted samples from villages around Klatovy and they were analyzed by AMOVA. I have compared samples with the surrounding populations in neighborly Federal Republic of Germany, Austria, Central and South Bohemia. There were no significant differences founded in the genetic profile of this population to the surrounding populations.

The Issues of Education and Learning Outside of the Schooling in Klatovy

This thesis deals with the issues of upbringing and education out of tuition in Klatovy. The goal of my thesis is to identify the specific activities of each organization for education and upbringing out of tuition in Klatovy, and alternatively to suggest improvements in the work of these organizations. The work is divided into two parts: the theoretical part explains the history and basic terms in the field of leisure education and puts forward proposals for spending leisure time in different age groups. The empirical part contains a list of all leisure facilities in Klatovy and semi-structured interviews with representatives of selected organizations for education and upbringing out of tuition. It deals with the methodology of this research.

Jesuit college in Klatovy with adjoining Church of The Immaculate Conception of Virgin Mary and Saint Ignatius and grammar school is a remarkable baroque monument of southwestern Bohemia and in the past served as an important center of knowledge, even for the bordering german area. The complex is connected with significant names of many great writers and architects. This Bachelor's thesis focuses on describing the changes of the komplex, the artistic decoration, it's complicated history and the activity of Society of Jesus in Klatovy.

Význam hradebního okruhu v systému veřejných prostorů města

This bachelor thesis The Significance of the Fortification Circuit in the System of the Public Town Spaces deals with the problems of the development of fortification areas, especially in terms of landscape and garden-design creation. An important aspect of this problem was the size of cities in which the fortification circuit is located, its current state and form (for the work it was necessary to find such reference examples, which should have the corresponding value). In the initial phase it was necessary to collect historical and architectural data on the appearance, development, purpose and function of the fortification area within medieval towns. It also explains the development of the Czech cities, when, how and why they were founded. An important part was also the chapter describing development of Klatovy town and the development of its fortification area. The next step was to describe the reference examples of towns with similar development in the Czech Republic and abroad, especially in countries whose historical development was connected with the historical moments in the Czech Lands. In total, five reference examples have been selected, I have visited them during my work - two Czech and three foreign locations. These sites have been monitored for the preservation of the tower systems and, above all, for the landscape design of the garden that were founded in these unique spaces. Individual examples have been described from the point of view of the current state, the material forms, the state of vegetation, the concepts of ideas and other aspects. A significant part of this thesis deals with analyzes of the selected site, which resulted in such a design solution, a study of a selected urban space, Vrchlického sady in Klatovy, which tries to reach the best solution thanks to solving current problems and needs. The correctness of the solution is verified by graphical representation of the situation in perspectives, intersections and axonometry. The output of the work is the conception of the Klatovy fortification ring and the landscape study of the Vrchlického sady, which sensitively approached to the restoration of the city park, defined in the former fortification wall. For the needs of studying the subject, I have visited both Czech and foreign reference examples. The results of the research show that the Klatovy fortification circuit is a unique place in the Pilsen region, perhaps even in the Czech Republic, and even in foreign cities of a reasonable scale. It was not found such an example that would resemble the Klatovy orchards.
